Chrome Flat

Reworking of a dated inner-city apartment into a cohesive and highly functional home.

Project Type: Residential, Major Renovation

Chrome Flat is a considered reworking of a dated inner-city apartment into a cohesive and highly functional home, where mid-century character is reinterpreted through a contemporary lens. Avela was engaged to deliver the full renovation, executing One Wolf Design’s spatially intelligent vision with precision and care.

Central to the transformation was the reconfiguration of the kitchen, dining, and balcony zones — increasing natural light and flow while navigating body corporate constraints with discreet framing solutions. Custom joinery in warm-toned veneer, a stainless steel benchtop, and integrated detailing elevate the kitchen’s usability and visual impact. Polished concrete floors extend throughout the communal zones, creating a durable and consistent foundation for everyday living.

The bathroom continues this material language, pairing a deep green terrazzo bath with brushed stainless steel fixtures and handmade tiles for a finish that is both refined and textural. With each element resolved for both form and function, Chrome Flat reflects a purposeful approach to contemporary apartment living.
